not only did we have a blast at my cousin's wedding, but we had a pretty great time hanging out with family & enjoying the beach- which always makes my heart go pitter patter...i am a florida girl, after all- we stayed at a little b&b on madeira beach. nothing fancy. but oh-so-quaint. perfect...
the boy, as always, loved the beach...i mean, what better place for a high-spirited monkey to run loose?
and play in the sand.
and splash in the water.
oh, and lest i forget....disrobe in front of all other beach goers. and roll in the sand...
yup, a good time was had by all.
of course staying on madeira beach meant we had to make a stop in to the candy kitchen.
and no visit to a candy store is complete without the purchase of these little babies...
i'm just keeping it classy. and YES, i did share these with my son. mother. of. the year.
even on the day it poured we managed to have fun. a visit to the pier. and the aquarium. and fergs sports bar for the big boys...they do have to fantasy teams to 'manage', after all...
we wrapped up our visit with a little breakfast at the crack.
this final picture speaks for itself....the light-hearted game of checkers, played by a 2 year old who has no idea of the real version, came to a halt when the nay insisted he follow the official rules....you can tell how serious she is about that. fun times.
all in all, perfect-albeit short- trip to my home state. but guess what? we're headed back down in 2 days- east coast this time. i know, i know. we lead a very glamorous, jet-setting lifestyle.don't be too jealous...especially of another 8+ hour car ride with a toddler..awesome.
